Malmok, Boca Catalina, and Arashi: Three Shore Coves in One Day
Start early at Malmok Beach, a rocky-edged stretch on the calm northwest coast that doubles as a snorkeling and windsurfing base. The entry is easy from the small sandy patches between the rocks, and the water is typically at its calmest early, before any wind builds. This is also the closest shore point to the Antilla wreck, though the wreck itself sits far enough out that it is a boat trip, covered on day 2.
From Malmok, drive or walk a short distance to Boca Catalina, a small sheltered cove prized for shallow, glass-clear water over a reef alive with fish. The snorkeling at Boca Catalina is about as easy as shore snorkeling gets on Aruba: a sheltered cove, clear shallow water, and a short swim to the reef.
After lunch, continue to Arashi Beach near the island's northwestern tip. Arashi is a calm, white-sand cove with easy snorkeling over a shallow reef, and it sits close enough to the California Lighthouse that a short detour up the hill afterward is an easy add for the view alone.
These three coves sit within a short drive of each other, so this is a day of short hops rather than long transfers. If wind picks up through the afternoon, which happens more often May through October, conditions can get choppier, so do the swimming you care most about in the morning and treat later stops as shorter dips.
Head back toward Palm Beach for dinner. Fisherman's Hut keeps the seafood theme going without a fine-dining price tag, or step up to Pelican Nest Seafood Grill for a full seafood dinner near the water.
Casual lunch near Malmok or Boca Catalina, dinner at Fisherman's Hut or Pelican Nest Seafood Grill on Palm Beach.
A rental car makes this day far easier since it links three separate coves in a few hours; a taxi works but adds up with multiple stops. The Arubus L10A bus runs from Oranjestad along the hotel strip and up the coast to Arashi, covering Malmok, so a no-car version of this day is possible with some walking between stops.

Go earliest to Boca Catalina: it is a tiny cove, and the calm early-morning window is the best time to snorkel it before it gets busy.
