Calm snorkeling cove near the lighthouse
Arashi Beach sits near the northwestern tip of Aruba, the last of the calm leeward beaches before the wild windward coast begins. It is a relaxed cove of soft white sand and clear, shallow turquoise water, quieter and more natural than the resort beaches further south. The gentle entry makes it good for swimming, and a rocky reef toward the northern end draws snorkelers.
The reef just offshore holds reef fish and is easy to reach straight from the sand, making Arashi one of the better shore-snorkel spots on the calm coast. A few palapas dot the beach for shade, and a snack truck often operates, but it stays low-key. Its position near the California Lighthouse makes it a popular stop for sunset, when the light over the water and the dunes turns golden.
