Direct storms very rare
Aruba sits below the main Atlantic track. Monitor forecasts and insure your trip just in case.
Aruba sits in the southern Caribbean, just north of Venezuela, with temperatures generally between 26°C and 33°C (79°F and 91°F) year-round. Because it lies outside the hurricane belt and outside the wettest Caribbean weather patterns, it receives only about 450mm of rain a year, making it one of the driest, sunniest islands in the region. Northeast trade winds blow steadily across the island, keeping the coasts comfortable even at the height of summer.

The ideal months depend on what you want to do
Year-round
Warm, sunny weather all year and calm leeward (west and southwest) shores like Eagle Beach and Palm Beach make Aruba a reliable beach destination in any month.
Year-round
Aruba has clear, calm leeward water with excellent visibility year-round, including the famous Antilla WWII wreck dive and snorkeling spots like Boca Catalina, Tres Trapi, and Mangel Halto.
Year-round
Steady trade winds and reliable sun suit sailing and catamaran day trips along the calm leeward coast and out to the snorkeling coves near the California Lighthouse.
Sep - Nov
Low season brings lower room rates and fewer crowds. Any rain tends to fall as brief showers, leaving plenty of sunny hours.
Dec - Apr
The slightly cooler, drier months are the most comfortable for hiking Arikok National Park, climbing the Hooiberg, and exploring the Casibari and Ayo rock formations.
Jan - Feb
Aruba Carnival builds for weeks from early January, ending with the Grand Parade through Oranjestad in a blaze of music, costumes, and color.
Temperatures are similar islandwide; mainly the wind, surf, and rainfall change from coast to coast
Palm Beach, Eagle Beach, Manchebo, Druif
The sheltered leeward (west) coast is the calmest and warmest, home to Aruba's most popular swimming beaches and resort strip. Steady trade winds keep it comfortable.
Oranjestad, Wilhelmina Park, Fort Zoutman
The colorful capital sits on the protected southwest coast, with hot sunny days softened by the sea breeze. The waterfront, tram, and harbour stay warm and lively into the evening.
Noord, Arashi, Boca Catalina, California Lighthouse
The northwest tip blends calm snorkeling coves near Arashi and Boca Catalina with the windswept dunes and divi-divi country around the California Lighthouse and Alto Vista Chapel.
Arikok National Park, Natural Pool, Andicuri
The windward north-east coast faces the open sea with crashing surf, rugged cliffs, and the cactus-studded desert of Arikok National Park. Spectacular to explore, but the powerful currents make most of it unsafe for swimming (the sheltered Natural Pool is the exception).
