Snorkeling and the Antilla shipwreck
Malmok Beach is a narrow, rocky-edged stretch on Aruba's calm northwest coast, set among low-rise villas just south of Arashi. It is less a sunbathing beach than a snorkeling and watersports base: the clear, calm water and shallow reef close to shore make for excellent snorkeling, and the steady trade winds make this one of the island's classic windsurfing spots.
The biggest draw offshore is the Antilla shipwreck, a large World War II German freighter resting in shallow water nearby and one of the largest wrecks in the Caribbean. Snorkel and dive boats launch from this coast to reach it, and the reef closer in holds plenty of fish for an easy shore snorkel. The shoreline is rocky in places, so water shoes help.
Malmok sits in the Noord district between Boca Catalina and Arashi Beach. It is a common launch point for the Antilla shipwreck dive and for windsurfing at Fishermen's Huts just up the coast.

Yes. A shallow reef close to shore holds plenty of fish for an easy shore snorkel, and the clear, calm water gives good visibility. The shoreline is rocky in places, so water shoes help. Mornings bring the calmest water and best visibility.
Not really. Malmok is a narrow, rocky-edged stretch better suited to snorkeling and watersports than sunbathing. Bring water shoes for the rocky entry. For soft sand nearby, Arashi Beach just up the coast is a better choice.
The steady trade winds along this northwest coast make Malmok and the nearby Fishermen's Huts a classic windsurfing area. The combination of reliable wind and flat, sheltered water draws windsurfers of all levels.
