Flat water and steady wind for all levels
Learn or rip across flat, shallow water at Fisherman's Huts (Hadicurari), Aruba's premier windsurf beach. Steady side-shore trade winds and a sandy bottom make it ideal for all levels.
Fisherman's Huts, known locally as Hadicurari, is Aruba's windsurfing home, a wide sandy bay just north of Palm Beach where the dependable trade winds blow side-shore across flat, shallow water. The combination is close to perfect: beginners can stand on the sandy bottom to learn and reset, while advanced sailors blast across the bay and out to the small wave breaks beyond. Aruba's reliable wind has made this beach a fixture on the world windsurfing calendar.
The island sits in the path of steady easterly trade winds and outside the hurricane belt, so the wind is consistent through much of the year and strongest in the spring and early summer. Schools line the beach with rental gear and lessons, and the warm 28C water means no wetsuit is needed. It is a social, friendly spot where you can watch the pros and take your first uphaul on the same stretch of sand.
Wear a rash guard and reef-safe sunscreen, bring water shoes, and check the daily wind before you head out. Beginners should take a lesson, stay inside the bay, and respect the right-of-way rules when the water gets busy.
