Surfside Beach

Surfside Beach is the closest beach to Aruba's capital, sitting just outside Oranjestad and near the Queen Beatrix International Airport. Despite the name, the water here is calm and sheltered, with soft sand and an easy, shallow entry that makes it a handy swimming spot for those staying in town or with only a short time on the island.

The beach is well served, with a popular beach bar and restaurant, palapas and easy parking, and it draws a relaxed mix of locals and visitors. Its convenience is the main appeal: you can swim, grab lunch and still be minutes from the shops, casinos and waterfront of Oranjestad. It is a good first or last stop near the airport, and the western exposure gives nice sunsets over the water.
